I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent throughout 2019 in researching the life and work of Sheila Macqueen and was both amazed to find that there was such a lot of information to be discovered both online, and from other sources.   I was privileged to have known her and to have been invited into her home and share the excitement of discovering the real age of her cottage, which we now know to date back to the end of the 12th century, or the very beginning of the 13th century.  At the 70th anniversary Flower Festival held at Holy Trinity Church, not only was there an exhibit (above) honoring her place in our community, but on the day I was there, at least half-a-dozen ladies approached me with their own memories of Sheila,.  One lady in particular was keen to tell me she had a signed copy of one of Sheila's books - as indeed have I, being lucky enough to have purchased it on Ebay.

However, it was the contact with Sheila's daughter Jane, and several other people in the world of Flower Arranging or who either had known Sheila, or who were instrumental in saving something relating to Sheila, or simply were in a position to tell me something I did not already know, which I appreciate the most.

 Although I haven't marked every entry with its provenance, I have listed below  all the sources I have used in this study, together with all those people who have given their time and knowledge to pass this information on to me.  My sincere thanks to them all.
